20's and 30's 20's and 30'sWhen: 2nd and 4th Sunday every month 12:30 The official name of our group is "The Ann Arbor Unitarian Universalist Twenties & Thirties Plus or Minus". The plus-or-minus ( +/- ) means aged 20-39 plus or minus. The group includes people *with* or *without* partners, spouses, and/or children. We hold after-service brunches the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. Individual members volunteer to organize activities such as movie and game nights, or community service events. We have approximately 35 members on our e-mail listserv. 5-10 members attend individual events, so new members need not feel intimidated. We welcome new members and new ideas. If you would like to join us for brunch we meet at 12:30 outside the First UU office after the second service and decide where to go from there. If you miss us you can check with the office for our meeting place. Bridge MixWhen: 2nd Sunday of each month Campout at First UUAAWhen: Once in fall and once in spring Celebrate the beginning of fall and spring with a family campout on the First UU land. Join Fibre ArtsWhen: First and Third Wednesday of Each Month Infant/Toddler PlaygroupWhen: Tuesday Mornings, 9:00am-12:00pm Get to know other mothers and fathers of infants and toddlers! The First UU Infant and Toddler Playgroup has been very active. In winter we meet inside and in summer we spend time outdoors on the land. Please join us, we look forward to meeting you! LUUnch BUUnchWhen: 2nd Wednesday of every month 11:45AM - 1:00PM Please join us for LUUnch, a casual, informal monthly get together where we can eat and chat with one another. Everyone is welcome and there is no set agenda. It is a nice way to meet people in the congregation and relax a bit. Typically about 6 to 10 people attend, and there is a mix of "regulars" and newcomers. About half the time, one of the ministers attends as well. Drop in and look for our table. Meditation GroupsWhen: Saturday 9:00am - 10:30am and/or Monday 10:30am - 12:00noon Join us in either (or both) of two meditation groups offered at convenient regular times noted above. Our purpose is to sit together (not necessarily on the floor) and support one another as we develop meditative practices to sustain and transform our lives. Meetings include check-in and discussion. Both groups welcome new participants, who may come from any (or no) faith tradition. A one-hour tutorial is available for those who haven't had experience or would like to brush up old skills. Men's GroupsWhen: Various times, depending on the group The purpose of the church's various Men's Group activities is to build a mature, liberal religious masculinity: male positive, pro feminist, gay affirming, culturally and racially inclusive and diverse. Oh yeah, and to have fun and friendship in brotherhood.
Round Robin DinnersWhen: 2nd Friday of each month 7pm (October - May)
If you would like to meet and get to know more UUs while eating diverse foods in a casual social setting, then consider participating in the RR Dinners. These dinners are structured potlucks held in our homes, each consisting of about eight adults with hosting homes and dining companions changing each month. Each person is asked to bring an item (appetizer, wine, nonalcoholic beverage, salad, bread, main course, vegetable, dessert) unless they are hosting a dinner in their home. This UU program is open to all adults (members, nonmembers, young, old, gay, straight, single, partnered, married, etc.) and is the way many of us have gotten to know other UUs. Each month from June to September (exact dates to be determined) we attempt to have a picnic for all Round Robin participants and prospective participants. Many of these picnics are family friendly events. Options:
