Robert Francis Klein was born on May 2, 1928. He was a graduate of Purdue University, and served with the United States Army in Korea during the conflict. He worked as a sales representative and an office manager, and at his death was a realtor with Spear & Associates in Ann Arbor. He loved flying, especially gliders, and was a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation, serving for three and a half years on the Board of Trustees, with special service in the area of Buildings and Grounds. He was always interested in world affairs, and especially liked meeting people of various beliefs and cultures. He took great pleasure in hosting foreign students, and enjoyed sharing his home with them and learning about each student's background and life style. He was interested in new ideas and could change his mind about an issue after careful study and discussions. He was an avid reader and enjoyed intellectual discussions, lectures, and books. Bob Klein loved his family, his church, his community - all of life. He was a man of his word, endlessly patient, with a twinkle of fun in his eyes. He valued people and worked to help them get along with one another, even in difficult circumstances. Robert Klein died on September 25, 1986. Ruth Klein was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa and received her Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota. She was an educator and taught for several years overseas at U.S. military bases in Japan, Germany, and France. She retired fromt the South Lyon School District in 1993. Ruth was an avid bridge player, a fabulous cook and and active member of The First Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Ruth had a warm, kind, and giving spirit, a wonderful wit and sense of humor. Ruth touched many lives through her teaching and friendships. Ruth Klein died on October 23, 2006 |
