This annual event is the largest fundraiser for the congregation. Last year, over $26,000 was raised to support our ministry and mission.

This event provides many opportunities for service to our congregation and for members to share tangible time and talent to strengthen our community. We invite everyone to find a way to contribute and help ensure our success again this year. Click here for more info.

Grocery Certificates

As we all know, everybody goes grocery shopping. This is a huge (over $10,000 per year) fundraiser for First UU. All you do is purchase gift certificates to your favorite grocery store at face value, spend them like cash for face value and First UU makes 5% profit. Store certificates available are Kroger’s, Meijer’s, Busch’s, Hiller’s, Whole Foods and People’s Food Co-op. They are sold every Sunday during coffee hour or by mail. Please use the monthly order form for mail-in orders only -- Follow the directions printed on the form. Don't shop without your grocery coupons!

Quuest Bookstore was formed about nine years ago. To this end books have been gathered from a variety of sources about the UU faith, history, spiritual goals, meditations, poetry and a variety of titles of general interest to UUs. Titles are selected from the UU World, references from sermons, forums and workshops as well as suggestions from fellow congregants.

The QUUest bookstore is open between services in the fall, 10:30a.m. to 11:30 a.m and following the second service from 12:30 to 1:00p.m. In the summer, it is open from 9:30a.m. to noon. The QUUest book tables are located in the southeast corner of the Social Hall. Portions of the profits from sales are donated to the congregation’s general fund several times a year. Please stop by QUUest and look over our many exciting titles.

Check out our list of book recommendations from church members who had a love of books that were soul enriching and challenging to the mind
