Membership Task Force Membership Task ForceWhen: Meets on an as needed basis (approximately 6 times a year). The Membership Task Force works with the Welcome Ministry Coordinator to develop and implement visitor and new member welcome procedures. Sunday welcoming teams include greeters, ushers, newcomer welcome facilitators, and involvement table monitors. The Membership Task Force is instrumental in establishing the procedures for these volunteer positions to ensure that each visitor is welcomed and given the opportunity to connect with the congregation. This task force, with the guidance of staff, also develops and implements the training of Sunday welcome team volunteers. Another key function of the Membership Task Force is to review and make recommendations about the process of becoming a member, welcoming new members, and facilitating the integration of new members.
Newsletter Mailing CrewWhen: 1st or 2nd Tuesday morning of each month The office produces the monthly newsletter early each month, but needs help with the hard copy mailing. They contact the members of the mailing crew based on the estimate of when the newsletter would be ready to mail. But it’s typically once monthly.
Publicity CommitteeWhen: Meets on an as needed basis The Publicity Committee is always happy to have members of the church join our group to help the congregation communicate more effectively. Our activities include:
If you would like to publicize a church event in a local newspaper, please contact Peter Mooney. The Internet Technologies Group, an outgrowth of the Publicity Committee, designed and maintains the church's web site. See below for more information. If you have questions or would like to get involved with the committee, more information is available in the social hall at the Involvement Table or you can contact Peter Mooney.
Web Site Committee (Internet Technologies Group)When: 2nd Sunday of each month (10:45AM in winter, 11:15AM in summer) The Internet Technologies Group provides technical expertise for the uuaa.org web site. They work with the FUUAA staff to facilitate web communication among members of the congregation and to present information about our congregation to visitors to our web site. The group provides the primary technical maintenance for the web site and also serves as a visionary group, looking for new uses of the web site and new ideas for using Internet technologies to serve the interests of the FUUAA community. Members of the group have varying skill sets that include web development, writing, photography and graphic design. They are always learning from each other and always happy for new ideas. Upcoming meetings: The Internet Technologies Working Group meets the second Sunday of the month between the two morning services. We would be happy to have you join us regardless of your web skills.
