Ninth Grade

11:30am

Coming of Age:
As youth prepare to leave childhood, they are maturing physically, cognitively, emotionally and spiritually. This maturation opens the door for greater understanding of their faith. The Coming of Age program is designed to help youth examine their own beliefs, better appreciate Unitarian Universalism, and explore how these intersect. Objectives of the Coming of Age program are to: help youth grow spiritually through transformative experiences; help youth clarify and grow more confident in their beliefs; help youth develop a special relationship with an adult mentor; and integrate youth into the Unitarian Universalist community by helping them strengthen relationships with peers and adults. The program meets both on Sunday mornings and for special events and overnights. It culminates with youth offering credo statements to the congregation.

Tenth - Twelfth Grades - Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU)

11:30am

The YRUagnome.jpgU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalist) group has an exciting year ahead of us - as always! The YRUU consists of about 40 sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school. This year we have changed our schedule a little to allow more time for worship, youth leadership and community building. We meet each Sunday at 10:30am with the first hour being dedicated explicitly to YRUU planning and implementation. During the second service (starting at 11:30am) we will be following a set UUA curricula - one which still has to be decided upon by the group. Once a month the YRUU will be in the sanctuary to worship with the entire faith community of UUAA. Apart from our normal Sunday meetings the YRUU also will have special outings focused on community service, growing together and (most importantly) fun. We hope this year to continue our tradition of taking a ski trip, making apple dumplings, hosting the UUAA rummage sale and possibly traveling to Transylvania to explore our UU heritage!
