Selection Criteria for the Sharing the Collection Program

First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor

The Sharing the Collection Program is guided by the second of the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism: "Justice, equity and compassion in human relations."

1. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations.

2. The organization serves (or advocates for) predominantly disadvantaged and vulnerable populations, such as low income families and individuals, people who have been targets of discrimination, or disabled and abused populations.

3. The organization has a demonstrable staff structure and record of performance, or if just established, a convincing project/program work plan.

4. The organization is substantially dependent on community support in terms of funding and/or volunteers.

5. The organization serves predominantly populations in Washtenaw County or a Unitarian Universalist organization or project that serves populations described above.

6. The organization is expected to be present with a display during the social hours immediately following the Sunday service(s) on the day monies are collected for their organization.

7. Each organization may apply once per year.
