A Resurrection In Our Time: April 4, 2010

UUSC was involved in El Salvador before the civil war began in 1980 and was represented both at the signing of the Peace Accords in 1992 and at the inauguration of the new president in 2009 by Charlie Clements, a public health physician and human rights activist. Charlie who is president and CEO of UUSC today was Director of Human Rights Education there in the late 1980s. Charlie will trace the role of both UUSC Unitarian Universalists, especially congregations that were part of the Sanctuary Movement like Ann Arbor, and show how they helped fulfill Archbishop Romero's prophecy that "If I am killed, I shall arise in the Salvadoran people."  Listen
