Welcome!

Spiritual Growth & Development at First UU is an experience that joins young, old and in-between to make music, work for a more just world, help heal the environment, and to grow in personal depth and understanding of the universe.

We offer special programming for nursery through fifth grade at our 9:30-10:45am. service and for nursery through twelfth grade at our 11:30 –12:45pm service. That programming consists of participating in the first few minutes of each Sunday morning worship service, participating in classes that involve life issues, spiritual growth, Unitarian Universalist identity and history, Biblical literacy, world religions and the environment. Kindergarten through 5th grade attend a children’s chapel at the end of each Sunday morning session.

We recruit over 65 volunteers to teach SGD classes (perhaps you call it Sunday School). Our professional staff includes our Consulting Minister of Religious Education, a Childcare Coordinator, Lead Youth Advisor and Lead Preschool Teacher.

To participate in our program we ask that you register your infant, child or youth so we know how many participants we will plan for, so we know how to communicate with you and so we are alerted to anything like allergies. There is no cost for registering your infant, child or youth in our program, but we expect that you will participate in the annual stewardship campaign with as much generosity as is possible .
